As a session musician, Kaye was the bassist on many Phil Spector and Brian Wilson productions in the 1960s and 1970s. She played guitar on Ritchie Valens' "La Bamba" and is credited with the bass tracks on several Simon & Garfunkel hits and many film scores by Quincy Jones and Lalo Schifrin. I plan on doing a segment on Carol as I am sure many people do not know of her contributions.
In the future I plan on doing a show featuring many of the songs she played on as well.

Bob Edwards has some awesome interviews and the topic range is endless.

NPR has a great Music program list-

All Songs Considered
Alt.Latino
First Listen
From The Top
Jazz Night In America
Metropolis
Microphone Check
Mountain Stage
Piano Jazz
Song Travels
The Thistle & Shamrock
World Cafe

But, 'The Tiny Desk' series, is probably my favorite -

community station, KVNF in Paonia, CO, for many years. We were actually the first small market station to gain NPR affiliation. I am familiar with all the programs you mention, though we do not air them all. We are also an affiliate of Pacifica and carry Democracy Now with Amy Goodman.
On the music side, we are a volunteer DJ radio with wide variety throughout the week.
I do a show each week on Monday aft, noon to 3. I feature only new music to the station. Each week we receive over 30 new releases from major labels and independent artists. I do my best to mix up as many genres of music as come in.
We are streaming so if you do tune in give me a shout.
