Traveling to Denver this weekend, so advice being asked:

-I'm considering looking for other jobs now, so how long should I wait after returning before applying? Like how long would it have to be to make sure to pass a drug test? I've been told it's only around a month.
-What are the best type of edibles? I've been told that lollipops are f[inks]ing amazing. I imagine brownies probably vary a bunch. I've never had any edibles actually since I've never actually bought weed, only bummed it from people I'm around.
-Anyone been there for that matter? How much is the typical price?

2. The more you use, the longer it's going to stay in your system

I've heard that if you are an infrequent user, one or two weekend joints is going to show up on a pee test 1-7 days after. To be on the safe side, you might want to wait 2 weeks. Some pharmacies sell home drug tests for THC. I'm not sure how they would compare with a test performed by a professional lab.

3. Ask this again at the place of purchase

Seems to me it would be a sound business practice to have such answers available to the customers.
You sound like you are new at this, I'd like to offer up some further advice: It would be tragic if your experience was a bad one due to ignorance. I am aware of first time consumers who ate a recommended amount, waited 15 minutes, decided nothing was happening then doubled up. The results were not the pleasant high they wanted because they ended up eating too much! I am not advocating against your adventure, just advising you that it is better to know a bit about what you are doing rather than learning via the school of hard knocks. I suspect that at the place you purchase those consumables an employee should have the best answer to any questions you might have. I suggest not being shy about asking them-let them know that this is new to you, ask them how long it should take before you begin to get a buzz going, how long the high lasts and how much they recommend for a first timer.

That said, have a fun trip.

4. Don't expect there to be any edibile Mexican food. Anywhere.

I think there's still a law against decent Mexican food in the state. Stick to extra-ingredient brownies.

5. It depends on your body mass index and how long/how much you've eaten.

What we heard from our union about cannabis metabolites is you can test positive from "one to a hundred days"; again, depending on how much you ate, how long ago you consumed, and your body fat. If you imbibe while you are here, make sure you take a home urine test before the real thing. Enjoy our beautiful and quite weird state, Butterfly!

7. Smoke your brains out then purchase some "clean" piss from eBay

I'd offer to sell some of mine, but it glows green and smells of cannabis.

Kidding aside if you don't want to smoke, look into a tincture that you drop under the tongue for a very quick high. I prefer to instantly feel it instead of the time that edibles take.

8. edibles vary widely from place to place, kind to kind and person to person

i'm a heavy smoker and different kinds have different effects on me.

i spent $15 on a candy bar that tasted disgustingly like strawberry quick and rice krispies and the woman told me that two, maybe three pieces should do the trick. so i started with two and, after 45 minutes, nothing, so i take two more. 45 minutes later, bupkus. so i ate another four more. half a damn candy bar and i didn't get anything.

a buddy brought us a couple of granola bar type of things and one bite left me drooling on the couch for an hour. but definitely talk to the clerk about your normal usage hours, how much to eat and expected effects.

i can't really speak about the price of edibles in denver, but i would expect an eighth to be anywhere from 30 or 35 bucks up to 55 or 60. some places will have pre-rolled joints, too. weedmaps.com is likely to have a good listing of shops in denver.

not sure where you're visiting from or if you've been here before, but the number one rule of packing to visit denver in the spring is to be prepared for anything. the forecast looks great right now, but mother nature could wind up losing her mind and throw some snow or rain with us. nights will be chilly (upper 30s, lower 40s), but it shouldn't be too cold. bring sunscreen if you plan on spending any real amount of time in the sun. lots of pretty country around here and i strongly suggest getting out if you get a chance, but i can't really talk much about what to do it denver. i only go down there for museums and concerts.

enjoy your visit to our wonderful state

10. Whatever you do, don't act on my advice...

... but unless you are something like an airline pilot, truck driver, or Olympic athlete, in many corporations drug testing is a scam. They just want to see if they can make you pee in a bottle. If they can, then they know they'll be able to violate your dignity in other ways. It also keeps a certain number of drug users from applying, which reduces their workload when every job has hundreds of applications to sort through.

If the company actually does any real drug testing, then they'll often use the cheapest, sketchiest, most fly-by-night, kickback providing lab possible, which means they'll reject as many applications for false positives as they'll accept applications from drug users who falsely test clean. They'd do just as well rejecting applications by rolling dice.

U.S. business culture is insane. Who has the greater potential for doing serious damage to a business? The nice guy who smokes a joint or two every weekend, or the racist misogynist homophobic raging alcoholic who presents well in the interview and tests "clean" for unlawful substances?

are great places to visit. Job situation not great, like most states. Be careful at the airport going home as they are using dogs now. The Satire on East Colfax has good Mexican food, exactly the same for the last 40 years I've been going there.

13. I've been taking drug tests for thirty years and never pee dirty...

and I'm a regular smoker. If you just flush your system with about a gallon of water to dilute your urine, I've been testing worry free.
Now that I'm older and more established in my trade, I refuse all drug testing without cause. All they have to do is ask and I'll tell them I smoke the wonder weed. I don't smoke before or while at work so it's an illegal search as far as I'm concerned. One company fired me for refusing to pee and when I threatened a lawsuit I was rehired.
