Well, it's been a month since Allison's murder.
There was another community meeting at the local elementary school with the police giving us an update.
The news was not good.
Here's what we learned:
Blood and tissue under Allison's fingernails provided the DNA of the suspect. However, it has not matched anyone currently in the system.
Some items were stolen from her house: an iPhone, a Tiffany bracelet (no description given), and some credit cards.
Apparently, Allison fought for her life, hence the blood under her nails, and the "extensive, complicated crime scene."
We are supposed to be on the lookout for a man with scratches on his face, arms and hands. (Why didn't they tell us this a month ago?!?!?!)
The suspect left her house at approximately 1 am the night of the murder.
They say it could be a person in the neighborhood, so they are keeping the police presence high, but tell us they still don't think that we are at risk. (?)
They are also going to continue canvassing the neighborhood.
They say they don't know if Allison knew her attacker or not.
I came away very shaken.
That poor girl, fighting for her life. How terrified must her final moments been?
Battling for her life in her own home, apparently late at night.
It just horrifies me, and every time I go by her house and see the flowers and candles it just breaks my heart.

(72,300 posts)I wonder if Allison made any new friends on the internet before her life was ended so abruptly.
