The new cat we have brought in is smokey and about 10 years old (I think) anyways I was in the kitchen about 3 days ago get some lunch and I open the Turkey by mistake and a piece dropped on the floor. Smokey rushed to the turkey and gulpped it down. He looked up at me for more. The little brat winked his eye and was begging. So I gave him another small piece.
This evening Smokey lead me to the Fridge door and kind of paw at it than he looked me and meowed. He wanted Turkey again and was demanding it.
Has anyone's cat done that?

(115,858 posts)One of my cats is mad for ham. If he thinks I have some he'll stalk me for it. He'll beg at the fridge, and has been known to snatch a ham sandwich right out of my hands.

(4,909 posts)Bring in the groceries and he went right to the bag with the cantelope.
My current crew of two cats don't like people food at all. I'm thankful for that.

(32,094 posts)She likes cantaloupe far more than I do. She is also a big fan of pork, so much that she will even eat the spicy filling from a pork tamale. I don't know about turkey lunch meat, however. I don't buy it. She does like turkey, however. I know other kitties who went nuts over turkey lunch meat, so I don't want to get her hooked on the stuff.

(12,008 posts)A bit of a slice of cheese was that cat's favourite thing in the world, and he'd meow for it too, if someone was eating some.

(47,675 posts)Actually, we do have a cat that won't touch fish of any kind. Now THAT'S weird.

(4,833 posts)well, if you offer her something new, she'll often take one bite, then ignore it.
She won't eat meat, cheese, shrimp, nothing.
Weird cat.
My previous cat liked Doritos and the dried-up cheesy bits from a can of EZ-Cheez.
He also liked to roll around in olive juice - that was a weird discovery the first time he did it

(6,996 posts)...she would only eat the Fancy Feast minced turkey in the little cans. She ate that for years and refused anything else.

(18,219 posts)Some were more preferable than others---ham, turkey, beef. I think that it is junk food to them----as well as us.
And all my cats have known where the food is kept!
