Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson survived a potentially deadly knife fight with his brother Andrew on Wednesday. The incident occurred at 4 a.m. in the front yard of a residence in Clive, Iowa, where police found both brothers, reportedly drunk, showing non-life-threatening stab wounds; authorities said the guitarist sustained one in the back of his head. Both were taken to hospitals in separate ambulances, according to The Des Moines Register.
"Neither individual was very cooperative," Clive Police Chief Michael Venema told the New York Daily News. "Our detectives will be following up as soon as their medical situation allows us."
Police had responded to a call from inside the home, where they say they believe the fight started. The guitarist, 41, has no prior criminal record in Iowa. His brother, 35, was once arrested for public intoxication.
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor tweeted that he'd heard his bandmate was "OK." "We're sending him all your thoughts," the singer wrote. "Thank you for that."
