(28,941 posts)It was extreme Vernors Ginger Ale. Had to slam your fist on the table to get it down and produced a belch that could be heard in Yorkshire. Good stuff.

(5,604 posts)because I had to unexpectantly work all day, but then I got to the place at 6:10 and they were closed. WTF... fish and chip place closes at six!?!1 I don't care if its a Sunday. So instead I got 8 montezuma-burritos from Taco Shack. That'll be breakfast tomorrow too.

(21,484 posts)Nowhere to get fish & chips in Southern Maryland except Long John Silver's and Red Lobster. And I'm not going to either of those places for fish & chips.
So how about a nice evol frozen chicken enchilada bake? That'll do. http://evolfoods.com/meals/classics/
I'll get fish & chips on my trip home next month, when I can get it from H. Salt.
Edit: it's "bake," not "bowl."

(21,046 posts)I think in England they call potato chips "crisps" and "chips" are what we call fries.
Somebody correct me if I am wrong. I have never been to England and only learned British slang from listening to Who records (yeah I'm old).

(54,256 posts)My closest friends are Brits.
I am fairly fluent in Brit.
Torches and lifts and loos and boots and bonnets and offside wings.*
*Translation: Flashlight, elevator, bathroom, car trunk, car hood, front left fender.
The 'near side wing' would be the right one.
Brit cars have the steering wheel on the right side, hence 'near side' and 'off side'.
