The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support Forumswe said good bye to fat cat this morning
she spent most of last night in my lap and time passed too quickly.
she was weak this morning and my husband wrapped her in the coat she loved to sleep on rather than stuffing her in the carrier. i made sure the car was nice and toasty for her and we cracked the window on the drive so that she could smell the air one more time.
i held her hand and scritched her ears while she crossed. i am crushed but at peace.
there is snow on the ground and the dirt is hard, so we will return her to the earth this weekend. dad, bless his heart, will dig the grave in his back yard.
mia was a sketchy kitteh when we first met, but we became fast friends as soon as i shared one of my fries.
she came to me in september 05. my best friend was going to germany for a year and i agreed to take her cats. my friend is still there, so the three of us became a family, welcoming the husband in march 08. she and the husband formed a special bond and he is having a far harder time with this.
she had the cutest pink nose and toes and had an opinion about everything.
rest easy, my sweet mia. you will always hold a special place in my heart and i will miss you forever.

Sweet Mia. My orange tabby gentleman Keiko and brown tabby Chester will be kind to her when she shows up. They lived with a calico hell-raiser, and will be blown away by a nice girl.
Take care of yourself, kid.
