http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/S-F-police-looking-for-owner-of-abandoned-6110720.phpSomeone in San Francisco is missing a leg, and the cops have it....
Officer Julio Bandoni found the leg last week at Eighth and Market streets. It was leaning against a tree trunk, in front of a mobile-phone store....
Bandoni didnt figure he would have it long. He figured whoever lost it would have stepped forward by now....
Shown a photograph of the leg, Lynch said it looked like her work, although she could not be sure. She said it might belong to a patient who she heard had recently died. Without checking the serial number of the foot, she said, it was hard to be sure. All of her feet have numbers.

Someone's got one strange fetish, even for SF!
A United States Paralympic hopeful is asking for the public for help in finding his prosthetic leg he says was stolen from his car.
KNTV reports (http://bit.ly/1FWel3E) that Ranjit Steiner woke up Tuesday morning to discover thieves had smashed his car window and taken his laptop and his artificial leg. He uses it for competitive running at City College of San Francisco.
The stolen leg is not the same prosthetic leg a San Francisco police officer found leaning against a tree last week. That one has a brown lace-up shoe on it. Steiner's has two blades on it for running. The rightful owner of the leg with the shoe has not been found.
Steiner says he is a hopeful for the 2016 Paralympics in Brazil. Anyone with information about the leg should call San Francisco police.
