(68,644 posts)My friend, Jerry the Tapir, swings at 41° off the horizon, and 39°, also to Starboard.
It's a sight to behold and a wonder that nobody's been killed by that thing.

(25,816 posts)What IS important is which way you sleep. All of us in the northern hemisphere should sleep with the head of your bed to the north.
This way, you are in alignment with the magnetic pole. In the southern hemisphere, the opposite (of course).
Either hemisphere, elevate the foot of your bed two inches. The gravity flow of blood to your brain will make you so glad.
If you know what I mean.

(56,912 posts)I have heard about the Head of the bed to the north but, this two inches thing is new (to me)
except for the Trendelenburg position ... (if you know what I mean)
In the Trendelenburg position, the body is laid flat on the back (supine position) with the feet higher than the head by 15-30 degrees, in contrast to the reverse Trendelenburg position, where the body is tilted in the opposite direction. This is a standard position used in abdominal and gynecological surgery. It allows better access to the pelvic organs as gravity pulls the intestines away from the pelvis. It was named after the German surgeon Friedrich Trendelenburg.[1] It is not recommended for the treatment of hypovolemic shock.[2]

bonus points for the Peter North reference.
I learned about him, from the internet forums, believe it or not. hahahaha
On a NY Jets message board, I was told he was a guy who hung around. In my naivety, I didn't get it. So I asked my husband, and he was like "what the hell are you doing online, who the hell are you talking to." lol
I kidded him that I found it interesting that he knew who he was. But I digress.
In my ignorance, I never realized guys had to go through such troubling and dramatic decisions. Must be a tough life.
