(971 posts)But sometimes "life" gets in the way. Weather, chores, commitments, etc...
Once a routine is established, you'll notice that the exercise feels good, and you miss it. The short term boost you get, and the long term physical benefits make you wonder why you didn't start sooner.
As for The Dreaded Donut: Taper off. One rather than two, then a half. Or frosted instead of filled. Stay away from the 'really bad ones' like Krispy Kreme, They use a huge amount more fat and sugar than others. Start with small steps,it makes the big ones easier, and they add up.
It's OK to fall off the wagon, as long as you get back on.
Been there, done that.
And also think of this: If you start an exercise regimen, you will gain muscle mass. Muscle is much more dense than fat. You may gain weight, but actually lose 'inches' when exchanging muscle for fat. This is common in the first stages of a change-over. You may not be in as bad a shape as you think, more muscle burns fat a lot faster.
