'Arrest Warrant' Issued for Punxsutawney Phil in New Hampshire
On Tuesday, the Merrimack, New Hampshire Police Department wrote on Facebook it had an "arrest warrant" for Punxsutawney Phil, adding that the groundhog should be considered armed and dangerous after he "told several people that Winter would last 6 more weeks, however he failed to disclose that it would consist of mountains of snow!"

(23,242 posts)1. A good attorney will get him off if he is arrested.
First, there is no statutory duty to disclose. In any transaction involving a weather-forecasting rodent, there is a presumption that the forecast cannot be relied upon, thus any such forecast (with or without a projection of snowfall) is accepted at the other party's own risk.
(More legal analysis to follow when I can think it up.......)

That would be quite a trek for the little guy to make from Pennsylvania.
