Life in the South

This is a major blizzard.

We've had about a sixteenth of an inch of snow this afternoon, followed by about a thirty-second of an inch of sleet.

Most milk was sold out when I went grocery shopping. The bread shelves were emptying fast, too.

The thermometer has fallen to nearly ten degrees below freezing.

There was an event I'd been planning to attend tomorrow afternoon, but it's been cancelled due to these frightening winter conditions.

But then, a large percentage of people in this area are originally from Ohio or PA.

We don't generally get the snowstorms of the north, but we get some wicked ice storms.

No snow, but everything froze over. Power and cable lines came down from the ice. We lost power about 9 last night. Just got it back after 12 noon today. Also, a huge branch broke off a tree from the weight of the ice and crashed into the house. Luckily, it did not go through the roof.

Gonna be a lot of ice in the morning.
