Yay!!!! I finally finished digging out from last month's blizzard!

I widened the path behind the barn, dug out the back door and restored the path from there to the garage, finished tunneling through the mountain my plower made that was blocking my utilities and widened the path to the oil pipes and propane tank!!!!

And then I checked TWC, Wunderground and NOAA and discovered that today's potential snowstorm is petering out and going to be less than 2"!!!!!

And then checked out the potential 5-8" snow that was predicted for this Sunday and.... NONONONONONONONONO!!!!!!!!
...they're predicting another blizzard w/35mph winds, higher gusts and, gulp, another 16-24"

aaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!!!

Hope you stock up on hot chocolate and tea and the like. I love having something warm to drink
after I shovel snow.

Don't you have a horse or two? How do they handle this?

Let us know what you actually get from the storm.

warm water. I periodically carry buckets of hot water down from the kitchen top off their buckets and melt their water. The barn is open under the eaves, so some snow blows in there and through the ends of the sliding doors, but Dahli is blanketed and I'll have the rain sheet on Maizie to keep her dry as well. We usually just get a dusting inside the barn, although I'll never forget the time I found more snow inside the barn than out, lol.

They have cut the forecast since earlier this evening. Now TWC and Wunderground are giving a total of about 10-16", plus an inch or so leading into it and another 1-3" after. NOAA is saying 7-11" Saturday night, but not saying how much on Sunday.

Looks like Nova Scotia is going to get slammed instead...time will tell. It all depends on how close to the coast it stays. If it moves further out, we get a reprieve and NS is hit dead on...

did my emergency shopping yesterday. very little left to get, but I always try to work off a backlog of halfnhalf and such, so now I'm set for the next week or two.

My list of chores tomorrow am before heading to the hospital is to clean up the newest dog poops (they've taken to pooping on paths and in the driveway because the snow is too deep for them to get to their usual poop areas. I don't want to step in stinky thawing fresh-frozen poops all spring and summer. Clean up the poop the horses dumped today right in the doorway and fix the back barn door because I had a hell of a time closing it so I think there's a loose bolt, try to scrape some snow off the barn roof and move it back from the barn, and check/refill the car's windshield washer fluid. Maybe throw in a load of laundry.

With luck I'll be able to leave the hospital early. The blizzard looks to start around 11pm and I want to be home, everybody fed and tucked in, showered and drinking cocoa when it starts howling...
