Though our last two were rescued from outside of where we lived. We found Idget (a pure black cat - semi-long hair) under a car outside of our condo complex two years ago, and Lucy was found with her mother and four other babies in a barn by our daughter.

We have adopted three cats from the shelter back in Maryland and one in Connecticut.

One, I don't drive, and transit in these parts is surprisingly shabby. Two I don't drive, so I can barely keep food in the house for myself, let alone food and litter for kitteh.
