The DU Lounge

Since the nicest people in DU are in the Lounge, thought I would post this here... There are a ton of folks over in the cancer and chronic conditions groups that could probably use some hearts. I just went through quickly to give some out to people who didn't have any. These people don't really post much in other places because, well, they are going through A LOT. I don't have cancer or a chronic condition, but have family members that do, so I like to check on them every week in these groups to see how they are doing.
Spread the love to those that need it the most!!

(22,057 posts)it sticks with the people who read this thread. I'm going through the final stage of metastasized liver cancer and I know just how depressed you can be-and that's WITH insurance, and a wonderful supportive partner.
A toast to you my friend!

(1,136 posts)My favorite person in the world battled cancer for almost 10 years. He was my step-father, but more of a dad than my "real" one could ever dream of being. I'm so happy to hear you have insurance, but most importantly a wonderful partner. If you ever need to vent, cry, scream, or whatever, please reach out. I'll be thinking of you and sending hugs and good vibes your way.

(22,057 posts)life was pretty much normal. But the meds I was on lost their effectiveness, along with the nausea and pain meds so we're switching to a much stronger chemo to try to slow it down again and going to morphine for pain. Nothing will give me much time but I'll take whatever I can for as long as I can.
My very favorite "get well" card....
And one more time-thanks for having a thoughtful heart. Don't be surprised if I take you up on offer to cry, scream etc. I try very hard to be strong for everyone around me but I know this is just as hard (in different ways) for them. I want my partner to remember me with love and good feeling but he needs help with coping too.
