Getting sick is easy. Getting 'well' is complicated.

After a week of the creeping crud, I went to my doctor.
She's really terrific (and I have a slight crush on her).

Seems I have the upper respiratory virus that's "going around".
No name.
I hate that.
If I'm gonna be sick, I wanna NAME IT.
"Oh, you have SnotHocker Syndrome."
or
"It's OysterStrangler Condition."

Anyway, the doc LANDED on it with both feet.
Miz. t (bless her) just walked in with a medium sized bag of...DRUGS!
And they ain't recreational.

A Proair inhaler for lung congestion.
2 times, 4 times a day.
Flonase for the schnoz.
2 in the morning and 2 in the evening.
Levofloxicin for the bugz.
Once a day, with food.

Also got a cortisone shot in my right cheek and a Levofloxicin shot in the left one at her office.
Hell, I'm bulletproof.

Gettin' old (or sick) ain't for sissies.

Pneumonia is a real possibility with these mucous ridden creeping crud thingies.

Rest, eat well and take good care of yourself

I hear ya! It is too damn easy to get sick.

My husband came home with a cold, and now I have it.

It's sooooooooooo much fun, limping around on my repaired knee, coughing my lungs out.

Blech.

But hey, you DID get to drop your drawers in front of the doc, so it can't all be bad, no?

However, my doc did give me a prostate exam a few years ago.
After I'd pulled my pants back up she grinned and said "Well, I guess I've seen you with your pants off now."
We both laughed.

I'm more comfortable with women doctors.
They tend to be gentler and more empathetic.
We've had a woman GP/family practice physician since the 70s.

Smooth move!

Sorry you are sick and hope you feel better soon!

I am just starting to get a cold and I really, really want it to be one of those quickies.

and kept going until February. I had bronchitis from whatever the first ailment was and that's what persisted. Went to the doctor several times and all he ever gave me was the Z-pack antibiotics and something else in the butt-cheek, but I don't think it was the same as yours. Also, used the Ventolin inhaler and it's fine for the associated asthma. I tried everything to get rid of it, too, and finally just gave up. It went away near the beginning of February on its own. I am so happy to not have that cough and wheezing!
