The torture behind Apprentice, Hell's Kitchen and Top Chef

http://nypost.com/2015/01/25/apprentice-hells-kitchen-top-chef-reveal-torture-behind-scenes/

-snip-
Last Sunday, two former contestants on “The Biggest Loser” revealed to The Post the torture, starvation and anguish that goes on behind the scenes of the popular reality show.

Since publication, a number of former contestants on other shows reached out to the Post to tell stories of utter devastation: physical, mental, financial. Some have since changed their names; some have had to change careers.

Yeah I know it's the NY Post but these claims have the ring of truth to me.

I think you make a deal with the devil with those shows.

ON EDIT: Just read the story about "The Biggest Loser" -- pretty much confirms what I've suspected all along. I'm really amazed that someone hasn't dropped dead during that show. The amount of "weekly" weight loss these contestants log is totally unhealthy, unrealistic, and unsustainable. But I can see how some could see it as a last chance to get to a healthy weight.

.... the same mugs keep bouncing between Top Chef (and all of it's spinoffs), Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen, Iron Chef, Knife Fight (on the Esquire Network or whatever the hell Men's network is called) and the one on network prime time (Nigella Lawson, Marcus Samuelson, Jonathon Waxman).

One wonders, if they lose EVERY. SINGLE. ONE, maybe they need to quit competing and just go back to cooking in a restaurant?
