(9,298 posts)looking out on a snowy day gave me pause - phenomenal photo. The variety of the squee never ceases to amaze me, but I'm glad you included the dazzling snake. You are the best, Salmon, and this is a not-to-missed feature on DU. Many thanks, and have a great week (hopefully with a MLK day off tomorrow.)

(65,408 posts)that echoes its coloration.
But I hate spiders, so I do understand having an unpleasant reaction to the unexpected sight of something you recoil from. When I suddenly come upon a big picture of a spider, I usually jump and startle, often throwing the book, magazine, or tablet I was holding.
I used to keep several snakes as pets. Gorgeous milk snakes--same color pattern as deadly coral snakes, but with the band colors in a different order. By mimicking the look of d venomous snake, milk snakes scare off some predators. I have also kept speckled king snakes as pets. Milk snakes are way prettier, though.

Thanks, SCE!

(35,688 posts)I notice there is a bit of a theme here--the snakes are the color of the background, the corgi on his same-color bed. The orange tabby with his toy.
I loved, loved, loved the horse.

No. I just stood there with my jaw on the floor while she pulled out my neatly-folded clean yoga pantss and dropped them on the floor....
