Christmas Falls to 5th Most Wonderful Time of the Year — Survey
WASHINGTON, OTTAWA North American polls, cross-referenced with astrological charts and four decades of meteorological data, show that Christmas is no longer the most wonderful time of the year.
Christmas is now actually tied for the fifth most wonderful time of the year with Bed Time
it has fallen way behind Summer Time, Quitting Time, Bath Time, and Miller Time, stated Henry Quinn, spokesperson for Ipsos-Reid, the research company that performed the poll.
The top three reasons survey participants gave for Christmas no longer being quite as wonderful were:
- Going to the mall makes me want to hit someone
- Fighting with the in-laws and crazy uncle
aaaargh
- While watching my children tear into their gifts on Christmas morning, Im seized with dissonance between their happy faces and the fear that Im teaching them to participate gleefully in a consumer economy which leaves half the worlds children in entrenched, tragic poverty, and will eventually lead my own children into a spiral of pointless acquisition and self doubt leaving them emotionally and spiritually void. Or something like that.
