w00t! My mother-in-law got me this guitar for Christmas (pics)

It's by a guitarmaker who works in Kolkata. Indian rosewood.

I played it and said the action was a little higher than I like, so the guy lowered it really quick. I also need to sand off a little resin from the fretboard (he offered to but I like to do that myself).

It just looks gorgeous too.

What does it mean when you say the action was a little high? There's a lot I don't know about guitars!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Some players like a lot of distance; I like them a little closer.

I have a Fender jazz bass tuned like a cello. I am not a guitarist and can't think in fourths.

I agree with Jaco Pastorius: "Frets are speed bumps."

Good luck! Know it will be fun!!!!

All of the maple necked electric guitars and basses I've played have worked great though, so I see no reason why it wouldn't be the same for an acoustic. Sure is pretty.

But it's a very inexpensive model purchased from Target, and you can get one for a song.
