A new book from the library, tea with the neighbors, phone calls from family, putting up my manger scene, pumpkin pie, and checking in here!

I'm trying to finish the second season of 'Murder Investigation Team' before Acorn TV retires it at the end of the month. I'll probably get more sleep tomorrow than tonight.

Acorn TV, by the way, is on Roku streaming boxes and costs $4.95 a month, or so. A great investment, if you're a British TV buff.

Thanks.

Don't know if you've watched the first season of True Detective yet (Mathew McConahey and Woody Harrelson) but that's also an interesting (pretty heavy dark New Orleans vibe) show.

The place that I'm staying, I guess I 'could' take a bath, but its not my house, and they are very territorial, so I stick to the basement shower. When I owned my own place, I took baths regularly because I worked outdoors in a all manner of of extreme weather. It was good therapy for body and mind. I miss that.

What are you reading these days ailsagirl?

I just finished Gone Girl. Blew my friggin' mind.

Now I'm reading The Flamethrowers by Rachel Kushner. Very lyrical, about a woman named Reno who in the mid-1970's who is an artist. She befriends motorcycle racers, some crazy radicals in New York City, and some artists & revolutionaries in Italy. It's very poetic and slow moving. Nice change of pace after the almost coked up speed of Gone Girl. Also borrowed a Joel Osteen book from the library. It looks like some fun inspired reading. I don't read books like that very often but feel like something uplifting.

Uplifting and sad both-- a book about an extraordinary life.

I tend to read non-fiction but that's not a hard-and-fast-rule.

Your book sounds like a lot of fun!!

Enjoy.

And Happy Holidays!!

most of the time. Life is stranger than fiction. Twain's life is a great example. What a remarkable wit. Enjoy, ailsagirl. Happy holidays to you too!
