The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsCame home from work and found my neighbor
mowing my lawn. Husband is down with the flu, I'm in the process of moving my 93-year old Great Aunt and I started back to work last week after being on Workers' Comp. for 4 months. Needless to say, the yard was getting a little ratty. He was mowing his yard and cleaning up the leaves in his own yard and he did our yard too. There is nothing better than great neighbors. I think he needs a nice homemade chocolate pie.

(12,132 posts)I woulda mowed your lawn too!
And I HATE mowing the lawn.
But I love chocolate pie more than I hate mowing lawns.
Full disclosure: I really woulda paid my lawn guy to fix up your lawn and happily took the credit and the pie.

(22,271 posts)there was NO WAY I was ever going to get married again. Wanted nothing to do with it. Uh huh. We've been together for 14 years now.
PS: Welcome to DU from an old timer.

(5,604 posts)well, I'm enjoying it, and despite being a little lonely at times, there is no female charm that could draw me back into a serious relationship. I just like being free, and I feel good helping others along the way if I can. I'd like to find to find a companion, but she'd have to be one like out of Kerouac novels, and sadly I don't think they exist anymore. (at least not around here)

Mr. Dixie and I both had the same attitude for many many years....right up to about 15 years ago when we met.
Online, no less, quite by accident.
