Iron Eyes Cody (born Espera Oscar de Corti April 3, 1904 – January 4, 1999) was an American actor born in Louisiana. Going by the name of Iron Eyes Cody, he portrayed Native Americans in Hollywood films.[1] In 1996, his 100 percent Italian ancestry was confirmed by his half-sister. (Wikipedia)

I do remember seeing the ad on TV.
