Check out some of the coolest cars James Bond has driven over the last 50 years

1. The Aston Martins have been the coolest.

The only things with more "cool cachet" in the 1960s were the Jaguar XKE and the equally gorgeous Ferrari 275 GTB/4 berlinetta, which was made in such infinitesimal quantities that it was basically a custom car. Which is why a clean one goes for high seven figures these days.

The Lotus Esprit was OK, but it was a Lotus of the Colin Chapman era. Which means that under absolutely perfect optimal conditions it might run for a hundred miles before needing thousands of pounds of expensive mechanical work. Not believable given the scrapes 007 gets into.

Bond driving a BMW made me reach for the Pepto.
