I had mine removed 30 years ago. It was supposed to be two appointments. But the Dentist did all four at once. When I came to, he told me. They bundled me into a taxi with a prescription for heavy painkillers. The pharmacist would not fill it because I was obviously stoned. The taxi driver saved the day when he shouted, "The guy just had 4 wisdom teeth pulled out!" I got the pills in a jiffy....

Good thing for the cabbie LMAO! The problem is that I stopped taking pain medications for my neck and lower back problems five weeks ago, so I'm going to try to hold out. Reminds of the Airplane, I picked the wrong week.....

The pills were Demerol, and strong.

I had Thanksgiving dinner as a liquid, after running turkey and mashed potatos through a blender. It was a good smoothie, tasted like bean&bacon soup.

I was given a choice on the number. I picked "all four", so I wouldn't have to go back.

Only three, because when I was younger one fell out and the other teeth just moved over.

The most painful thing about it was the needle they stuck in my hand. When I woke up, it was all done. They handed me a bag of drugs and sent me on my way. Wifey drove me the half a block distance to our unit. During recovery there were no complications at all.

A few days later I was eating doner kebab in Luxembourg City. And I never even needed the Percocet that they gave me.

Military dentists, baby! The best of the best!

I hope you don't have too much pain, and recover quickly. Good to get rid of rotten teeth, though. I second the ice-pack idea, and maybe alternate with hot compress, for comfort.
