For me it was the tender crooning of George Michael's, "Careless Whisper". Could have been worse. My best friend lost it to Kiss, "I Was Made For Loving you" ... or better.

(3,134 posts)Summer of love...I think I was made the winter before! Oh well, love is timeless.

(66,380 posts)My first time was such a fraught, fumbling, harried experience, I don't remember details like that.
Now, the second time (it was with a different woman; shows you what the first time was like...) the song playing at the magic moment was "Witches" by the Cowboy Junkies.

(53,959 posts)The song wasn't really playing, but because of awkward positioning once the deed was about to be done, someone's drawers got caught on the parking brake, it got unset, and we almost rolled into a ravine! So, we weren't "coming around the mountain", but we almost went down one!

(5,604 posts)probably somewhere around Light my fire on the first side. Summer of '86. We were 16. Acid, dope, piss-warm beer, and always an illegal gathering at the local community horticultural college on summer nights. It was July 29th to be exact, and we also wandered off to go skinny dipping first in Lake Ontario, and then climb over the fence at the local pool. Good times, and to boot; that girl was my first 'real' love. Though the relationship deteriorated over the next year or so, that was the one and only time in my life I was "in love".
Magical times
Wow such I'm a curmudgeon now.

Lost it way before then. Like...1969. I remember the experience (rather sordid, as I recall) and there was no music playing at the time.
If I'd had a choice, my ideal music would have been something by Barry White.
sigh...
Jokerman
(3,518 posts)A cliche' I know but it was a big hit at the time.
I can't say with absolute certainty that it was that specific song at that specific moment but it was without a doubt the "Bat Out of Hell" album playing on the car tape deck.
mythology
(9,527 posts)Of course it was the much less heralded album Welcome to the Neighborhood, but I didn't want to set her up for any further disappointment, so I went with the song "45 Seconds of Ecstasy". She contended I still oversold myself. :p
More seriously, I don't remember if there was music playing. There probably was in my head, if nothing else to distract me a bit from feeling self-conscious and stupid and clumsy.
Jokerman
(3,518 posts)You know, some subliminal confidence building. Although for most high school boys, 45 seconds might be more realistic.
