Walking Dead, Day of the Dead, whatever.
I just can't stand them.

(29,414 posts)are still classics. The rest aren't worth my time.
Also, I find the idea of Vodou-based zombies far creepier than the current virus/whatever "explainable" zombies. I mean, how do you fight magic?

(12,132 posts)but I do like zombie movies and such so I might be biased.

(9,983 posts)Zombies, vampires, imaginary "squatch", haunts, haunted houses - I'd rather watch a spray-hair infommercial!

(11,700 posts)It doesn't bother me that someone else likes them, they just do nothing for me.
RebelOne
(30,947 posts)I liked them when I was a teenager, but not fond of any of those shows now.

The fascination with zombies is a call out to 'normal' people who are swamped in a world of overt conspicuous consumption, and conformity.

(63,214 posts)Not nearly as good as its fans insist that it is, and I'm a fan of the genre, so it's not as though I'm predisposed to hate it.
Other offerings vary widely in quality, much like in any other genre.

(43,049 posts)I have a soft spot for "Night of the Comet."
(Throw some zombies and a few guns into a chick flick and you have something...)

(34,136 posts)Yeah, that one is kind of fun once you get past the valley girl speech impediment.

(34,136 posts)Since it was so perfect in their parody of it.
And like most classic Grade B science fiction movies, there really was some good character development and a logical plot. It is one of the ones I'll watch on re-runs unlike a lot of the higher budget movies with more special effects and gruesome makeup.

(21,020 posts)Don't give a shit about them, don't understand the appeal.
Maybe I'm just an old fartress...maybe I wouldn't have cared even in my younger days.
But...whatever makes people happy...

(50,130 posts)That's the one where slugs jump into the mouths of unsuspecting college kids who then turn into zombies. It was the craziest thing I ever saw.
When I was just a kid my uncle was watching a movie about zombies -- B&W. That was my first inkling about them.
I watched Shaun of the Dead with some teens. So I'm not totally unschooled about the genre. How I feel about them? Meh.

(54,020 posts)They're too slow and usually a double-tap will take them out. People who are killed in zombie movies invariably do so due to lack of strategic vision. Vampires you have to outthink; werewolves you have to outfight. But when a zombie gets you, it just makes you look lazy.
