Samsung Epic 4G

I'm due for a new phone and am looking to retire my POS Blackberry ASAP. I've done a lot of homework on cell phone lately and have narrowed it down to 2 that fit my requirements (a real keyboard) and carrier (Sprint).

The other phone in contention (HTC Evo Shift) my dad has and I can play wtih his at a moment's notice.

But I don't know anyone with an Epic. Anyone here have this phone? Would you recommend it?

If you are insistent on getting a phone with a physical keyboard, the Epic 4G may be a good option.. But, have you messed around with the Epic 4G Touch? The regular Epic 4G is pretty outdated in terms of technology. You may regret having that phone when it cannot do many good things after 2 years. I HIGHLY recommend getting a phone that has the most current Android OS (Ice Cream Sandwich).

is that I was thoroughly convinced I had to have a physical keyboard so for my first smart phone I got the original droid and within weeks I never used the physical keyboard again. I love swype on my Droid Razr now.

I know nothing of sprint and the only HTC we've had was my wife's Rhyme which she hated and traded for a Razr like mine. I think HTC makes fine hardware but she hated the custom rhyme interface. She had it for 4+ months and could never figure out how to do anything. She's had her Razr about 3 weeks and already has it doing all the shit she wanted the rhyme to do. Faster.
