is it time to eat again? almost? well, i'm not hungry--let me know when it's really time. maybe i'll be hungry by then.

and

did you wash your hands before trying to feed me?
i have to wash my hands before i try feeding myself
no, i can't touch that--it's too messy
no, i don't want to get that on my face/hands/clothes--i can't eat it

ok. so she wasn't that fussy. but she sure turned out to be.

she was only slightly fussy as a child. never picked up stuff off the floor and put it in her mouth. she did like sharing her food with our three dogs though. that was always fun. and they always appreciated her generosity.
