(35,015 posts)but that wasn't a good thing. The folks next door had a pet mountain lion (cougar) named Baby that they kept on their fenced-in back porch. It roamed the house too, but was never allowed out in the yard (sad).
Anyway - I had a good view of her from my bedroom window and would watch her pace. When she meowed it sounded like a baby crying. I felt so sorry for her, trapped in that house. It really was cruel to do that to her.
If you get one as a pet, make sure you have a suitable outdoor space to stretch it's legs.

(13,447 posts)I would've been tempted to call a wildlife rescue center to get her out of there. I'd also never actually get a Cougar as pet as I wouldn't want them eating my other pets, or me. And they would need a nice big wooded area to roam and hide.

(2,015 posts)They're so cute when they're kittens. Then before you know it they are giant cats who tear down your curtains and eat all your food.

(6,261 posts)We encountered one in the wild, sleeping under a bush once. It sounded so harmless, but we decided to tiptoe on out of there anyway.
