This Cat Uses Sign Language To Interact With Its Deaf Owner

http://sfglobe.com/?id=13439&src=fbfan_13439

As a deaf person, you rely on sign language to communicate with others. Although, what if the person you're trying to talk to is a completely different species?! That didn't stop this man. Somehow. he was able to teach his brilliant little kitty sign language. You won't believe how these two interact!

Have you ever seen a cat do anything like this before? Let us know in the comments.

Cats are smarter than many people think. They don't generally learn "tricks" for your entertainment, but they are perfectly capable of learning skills that suit them.

and that cat learned how to stand on the top step, stand up, and turn the door handle to let himself and
his brother, Simba, out!

First time I found them roaming the house in the am I thought I'd forgotten to close the door. After it happened
several times we finally figured out what happened by putting them down there and waiting for Mouse to come
open the door!

I love watching the little buggers; they're always doing something a bit unexpected. I am convinced they are much smarter than most people think.

Later in life he developed diabetes.
He learned that he couldn't eat breakfast until I'd given him his insulin shot.
If I slept late he'd hop on my chest and paw my face until I got up and gave him the injection and then fed him.

Ace was also a hell of a hunter.
Squirrels.
He would proudly bring me a dead squirrel.
Almost as big as he was.
Not to worry, we were over run with the tree rats.
What a cat.
Still miss him.

They just sit or lay where they are, and belt out the sons of thier people, and leave it to us to figure out what will shut them up.

It worked so well that I still use it with my current dogs. Dogs and cats are extremely good at reading body language.

Humans can hear in the womb but dogs don't develop good hearing until about 15 days after birth. Humans hierarchy is hearing then vision then scent -- dogs are the exact opposite. By communicating through visual means we are meeting them half way. The cat doing the signs is a new one though! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful to see. If only humans were this patient with one another when communicating.

Cats are very smart. I had one that I toilet trained and another that could say "I love you" and "Hello."

No, she did not flush.

He doesn't have speech in his life, but he commicates to me all the time.
He brings his food bowl and drops it on my feet when hungry.
I ask him where's your bowl, he'll go and get it.
Wanna Go for a walk. Grabs his leash.
Com'on lets go to bed, he says. Sits in the hallway at the precise time with a favorite toy.

Cats are just behind on the evolutionary scale. Very sorry.
