we're seeing the cure next month!

husband hoarded some money from tips and ebay sales and we were able to get the riot fest tickets last night.

i'm hoping we can scrape up enough for tickets to the night of the festival he wants to see, but i am so lucky to have a husband who is willing to do this for me. it's our five-year wedding anniversary coming up next month and this is his present to me.

it will be the second time we've seen them together and the fourth time for me and I AM SO EXCITING THAT I WANT TO YELL ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw Queen (actually 1/2 of Queen plus Adam Lambert) on their North American tour in July and it was great!! Glad I did it!

I don't think so.

I wanted to see Brian May as long as he could drag himself on stage and play his guitar. He's 67. Roger Taylor, Queen's drummer is 65. They had some help from the new band, Adam Lambert and Roger's son Rufus. Brian says when he's not on stage he's busy recuperating from performing. He mentioned inflammation, repetitive stress injuries, and a balance between keeping his calluses hard on the left hand and practicing too much and getting the aches and pains. They're still on tour now in Australia and NZ. Seems to keep following Lady Gaga around. They put on a 2-1/2 hour show with no opening act and no intermission.

When George Burns was in his 90s, he said "At my age, sex and violence are the same thing."

Sounds like in Brian's case, rock 'n' roll and violence are the same thing!!!

to see a long-time favorite band, especially if it's for the first time.

Never saw the Dead or Siouxsie and the Banshees and am still feeling a bit grumpy about it.

I saw them back, WAY back...maybe in 91 or 92 at The College of William and Mary. What an awesome show! I hope you have a blast!

but i'm just a youngun and didn't discover them until 96. it was 2000 before i got to see them live and they've never disappointed. it'll be tough for them to top the 08 show, though. it was at red rocks, a nearly full moon rising and a killer thunderstorm over denver.
