Apparently 1/3 of women in Britain never

Last edited Mon Aug 25, 2014, 02:54 AM - Edit history (4)

will have children. I remember reading aswell that a huge percentage of German women never marry. I am descended from both. In my immediate family there are 9 people who never marriied going back three generations and I‘ve only investigated a third of aunts and uncLes. On both sides of my family. So I come by it honestly my desire to be solitary. I like finding out I am a member of a club of one sort or another. Give me a cheer for singletons.

She found that wherever she went, no matter what the culture, no matter how many children the women she interviewed actually had, all of them thought that four children or fewer was the ideal number, and some said they wished they didn't have any. However, in pre-industrial cultures, the men usually wanted to have as many children as possible.

usually wanted to have as many children as possible because in all likelihood they were living on farms and kids were a good supply of essentially free labor. At least, that's how my great-grandfather seemed to view things.

Maybe that should be the true standard of civilization.

I was single until I was 38. I'd never even had a steady girlfriend before then. I enjoyed being single until I got to be about 35. Then something in me made me not want to be alone anymore. We can all change at any time.

With an option to renew for another set period of time, should both parties be amenable.

Sometimes I think the whole childcentric movement is a reaction to larger numbers of people choosing not to have children.

No desire to marry or even date at this point. I suppose if I met the right sort of guy (basically a better looking, male version of me) I might. But other than that, no thank you. No time; no interest.

Solitary is good.

I have never regretted that choice. Now that I am beyond child bearing I am glad that I Had a choice. There are too many people who want to take that option away from women.

Giving huge cheers, and a big for singletons!

With no complications
Fifteen generations
(of mine)
All honouring nature
Until I arrive
(with incredible style)

I'm the end of the line
The end of the family line
The end of the line

No baby pulled screaming
Out into this seething whirl
By chance or whim
(or even love ? )

Our family tree hacked into decline
And I'm spared the pain
Of ever saying
("goodbye&quot

I'm the end of the line
The end of the family line
The end of the line

The decision is mine
The end of the family line
The end of the line

The end of the family line
The end of the ...
