What's the big deal with spam?

I was just on my 3rd jury dealing with someone selling jeans and shoes. Gosh darn it all!

1. I was on one of those, too.

And just alerted on another one. I'm guessing that they've found a means of getting in easily. One of the jurors asked if DU uses Captcha for new members. That might help.

2. I've been on two in the last week

At least they are juries where I can make a quick decision and not worry about pissing off a good DUer.

There's one thread I've been called to jury two different posts on (or maybe it was a second thread on the same subject) and I bailed out. Whatever is going on in that subgroup, I don't want any part of.
