Although it is true that their colors are somewhat similar.....

.... Johnny's Seasoning Salt makes a poor replacement for powdered cinnamon. One should always double check this before taking a bite out of ones French toast. (When a cook book is finally made for stoners this should be found near the front!)

I have a large spice collection. I somehow, well...not somehow, I know I grabbed the wrong jar...once made cinnamon rolls only to bite into the first one out of the pan...and realized I'd used smoked cumin instead. Unfortunately, they were for a catering client so I had to rush to make another batch.

I used the cumin buns as a savory to serve with chili.

...I quit successfully impressed this young lass with my lack of cooking expertise by not knowing the difference between 'clove' and 'bulb' of garlic. One bite of that 'garlic steak' told us that something from the recipe had been terribly misinterpreted. The poor girl wasn't horribly scarred by this but after we got together she refused to allow me to do any unsupervised cooking for the next decade!
