You're only supposed to do the ice thing if you don't donate right, or am I misunderstanding that?

I'm seeing celebrities getting ice dumped on them. Does that mean they wouldn't donate, and they're so proud of that that they're recording their defiance to show the whole world?

I know Jimmy Fallon said he would donate anyways. But what about all these other idiots. Are they just pouring water over themselves to save chalking up $100 for ALS?

4. Skip the bucket - use a balloon!

Way back when I was one of four women renting rooms for the summer in a frat house, the guys came up with the idea of dropping water balloons on anyone walking through the door. Since they had easy access to the roof of the front porch through a second floor window, they managed to hit everyone in the house at least once and all the women multiple times.

To make it more exciting than just your basic water balloon, they'd stuff the balloon with ice cubes first, then fill with water. It made getting hit startling but since most of the ice cubes melted by the time the tap water filled the balloon, it was not dangerous - unlike getting hit with a clumsily dropped large container full of water!

become now more of a youtube stunt.

"In one version of the challenge, the participant is expected to donate $10 if they have poured the ice water over their head and donate $100 if they have not.[12] In another version, dumping the ice water over the participant's head is done in lieu of any donation, which has led to some criticisms of the challenge being a form of slacktivism."

I told her I'd gladly pay to see a bucket of ice thrown over her head.

8. New Zealand Man Dies of a Heart Attack After Completing the Ice Bucket Challenge

Being immersed in, or doused with, cold water, can cause what is called “cold shock response” and lead to death. The cold water constricts the blood vessels, which can bring on a heart attack. Mr. froggy had a close call a few years ago when he dived off a boat into a newly thawed lake. Scared the bejeebies out of me!
