The Devil's Arrows

The Devil's Arrows is the name for three menhirs standing in Boroughbridge N. Yorkshire. The name comes from a legend that appeared in the 18th century, saying the devil threw stones at the next town, Aldborough saying, "Borobrigg, keep out o' the way, for Aldboro town I will ding down." However the stones missed and lodged in Boroughbridge.
