I would think you would need to learn things you have to learn while it will be easier - learn how to work the computer with those things that speak and spell for you so we don't lose you.
maybe train your own seeing eye dog and learn where and how you can get around.
That ha always been a great fear of mine, I am a very visual person. Like to take pictures and watch my garden grow and be very independent.

Take care and keep us up to date as you take your visual bucket list.

I went stone deaf in my left ear a year ago last May.

"What do i need to see before i cannot anymore?"

Everything you're interested in and everything you've seen before.

I'm so sorry to read this. My sympathies.

Fortunately, in my case cataract surgery did the trick, and I can see better now than ever. It would seem your condition is not so simple as that.

Best wishes, whatever transpires.

and organize organize organize organize. What no longer be of use I'd sell on craiglist. Do lots of research about how others have coped with the news and locate support groups and services that may be available to you and get involved with those groups now. Find out if there are specialized things that you will require or could make life easier and shop around and buy them now. If at some point you'll need to update anything to do with the govt like a passprt, get all the forms filled out now.

My heart goes out to you. I wish you all the best.

A trip to St. John to see Trunk Bay might not be too much. It is one of the most beautiful places in our area.

I could not find a photo that could even begin to do it justice. But the water is bath tub warm, gin clear and the sand feels like sugar. The hills on each side frame it perfectly and there is a little island in the center. Once the tourists leave, it is the most serene and beautiful place.

I would spend all my time with my grandchildren, especially my 10 month old granddaughter.

On edit: I would take her with me to see the aurora borealis

also Moab, Utah. Alaska. I want to see Iceland someday. It's supposed to be like a different planet. You can take tours of the countryside riding on icelandic ponies.

For me it would be the faces of the people I love first. All of them. I'd want to see them all and commit their faces to my memory as much as possible. Then an aurora borealis, which I've never seen. I'd want to dive in a tropical reef one more time and there are a couple of cenotes I'd like to swim before I couldn't. We're all different. It depends on what you enjoy seeing the most.

I'm sorry for your bad news. My vision is the one sense I'd dread losing the most. Focus on the positive of having the time left you still have while you have it. Relish everything while you can is my advice. Treat every moment like the precious and all too fleeting moment it is.
