I soooo feel for her. I absolutely *HATED* New Year's and birthdays with a passion, and I would get upset enough it would make me feel sick to my stomach. I'm pretty sure I was the only kid in elementary school that was on nerve medicine back then. I didn't want my grandparents and parents getting older, I didn't want to get older and grow up, was always afraid of everyone dying, etc. When I got a bit older and looked back at things, I blamed it on my neighbors and their fundy church that they took me to every Sunday (end of the world stuff, blood running in the streets as high as a horses' bridle, rapture, people being left behind and alone...etc.). I'm sure my parents sent me and my brother so they could have Sunday mornings *kid-free*.

To this day (and I'm 51 now) I still don't like New Year's Eve, although the best one I ever had was the night I felt my daughter move for the very first time. Birthdays are .... meh!

Babies are a pain in the ass. I helped raise 3 nieces, I know.
