A visiting friend from another country told me she has stopped watching TV

because of all the yelling. While in the U.S. she listened to PBS/NPR and was delighted with the civility. She loved the endings to interviews where one or the other says 'Thank you for enlightening us' or 'I appreciate this time together' or 'This has been helpful' or other kinds of nice, nonthreatening responses.

Kudos to PBS/NPR. I agree!

Commercials, talk shows, most tv shows, all loud and blaring.
Since we cut the cord, our house is marvelously calm and quiet, we are so much more relaxed.
