hasn't changed all that much since I was there.

When I'd fall into that kind of mood I tried to spend a bit of time outside the lab, find a park bring a good book and don't think about anything related to real life for awhile.

I hope your day gets better from here.

Since I'm terrible at finding appropriate things to say, please accept these cute baby animals as my gesture to cheer you up.

If it helps, I put on a not-inconsiderable amount of weight due to my vice reduction, and it sucks.

just up the road from you in New Haven.

You are not alone.

I have been pretty pissed at myself for gaining back more than 25 lbs of weight I lost
several years ago. I finally said STOP in January, but have been losing/gaining only
the same 5 lbs since then. I intend to break through that 5 lb barrier--and keep it
going-within the next few days.

You are not alone.

My youngest son was in Berlin from last September to the 5th of July and will soon be going
off to grad school about 575 miles away. I probably won't see much more of him over the
next 3 years than I did when he was thousands of miles away in Germany.

You are not alone.

When I get down in the dumps about stuff, I like to take my camera out on a walk and see what beauty I can find.

Hope you find some beauty in your life, soon!

Until then, know that you are not alone.
