Deep Purple's Ian Gillan, fronting Sabbath in 1983. What WERE they thinking?

Here's Gillan with the band performing "Smoke On The Water" (which, I understand, really pissed Sabbath fans off).

Heaven and hell is the best Sabbath to me, but this is up there.
