Who has seen "Men Who Stare at Goats?"

Last edited Fri Jul 11, 2014, 04:37 PM - Edit history (1)

I picked up the DVD super cheap. Is it worth the time? It does have George Clooney in it, but then I'm a little at miffed him right now for getting married without me.

It had some funny points and some ironic messages.

I think they were trying to go for something with the same vibe as the original "MASH" movie or "Catch 22" and didn't achieve that level of writing quality.

or more specifically: I listened to the audiobook during a long trip. Very interesting and entertaining, but also baffling.

Haven't seen the movie either, but I'd be curious to see what they made out of the material.

I remember it as kind of fun, but not something I'd go out of my way to re-watch.

because they couldn't handle giving heavy praise to a movie in which the climactic scene is an out-and-out tribute to the glories of LSD.

And so was Clooney. But I don't think the movie was quite what its makers were going for.
