What country's history would you like to read up on next? I've always avoided British history like

plague (actually I think I empathized with the french canadian history I learnt in french immersion school: they were in conflict with the British). But I bought my mom a book on a new take on British history. I can't wait to read it.

later I saw the very same photo almost for sale as a commercial poster. Sat on a bridge with a good friend and at the most wonderful pie: layers of cheese, ham and mushrooms. Just delicious.

In a sense it's "our" history, too, but I have to admit, American history from Puritans to the early 1800s bores the crap out of me. I know I should be fascinated by the making of the Constitution and all that, but I find it a big snooze fest...European medieval history is my favorite.
