The Bilbie Family

The Bilbie family were a prominent family of bell founders and clockmakers based in Somerset, England from the late 17th century to the early 19th century. They made more than 1350 bells. Legend says the Bilbies were wild looking men with long hair that couldn't read or write. They would never cast a bell until the midnight of a full moon and the weather was perfectly clear.
