has anyone ever been to Atlantic Beach North Carolina?

1. Yes, lovely beach.

Not commercialized and still had an "old-fashioned" feel to it. I haven't been there for about 5 or 6 years though. We liked it a lot.

I don't recall much about it. I on;y know I went because I remember the vacation I would have been dragged there...I hate beaches. I'm a hard-bottom packed-dirt-shore surrounded by shady-trees man-made lake kind of guy.

I hate the beach and almost certainly spent the entire time with my nose in a book, annoyed by sand between my toes.

3. Yes. In fact I'm going to Emerald Isle--only a few minutes drive from Atlantic Beach--this weekend.

I live in Chapel Hill--about 3 1/2 hour drive to Emerald Isle--and try
to get to the beach every year, maybe twice if I'm lucky. What
they call the Crystal Coast--southern Outer Banks--is my favorite
part of the beach in NC.


What time of year are you going? What do you like to do?
Kayaking in the sound is a lot of fun. People windsurf on the Atlantic.
Fishing. Sailing. Jet skis. Golf. Biking. Surfing.

Or just hang out on the beach. If you have a rainy day or just
want to do something inside, visit the little Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores.

Very family friendly. Mostly single family homes, duplexes, condos.
Nice wide beach. Walk as far as you want on the beach.
Where are you staying?

6. we are staying at a timeshare

I love to play disc golf, and hang out on the beach.
I heard that the were wild horses nearby. My fiance would love to check them out.

7. Yes. The wild horses at Shackleford Banks. I've never been over to see them.

we visited Ocracoke Island a few years ago and really enjoyed our short stay there.
