How do I sell a car with the least amount of effort for the best price?

May be a dumb question. I need to sell my mom's car for her estate and don't really know how to go about it. It needs about $400 worth of work and I am reducing the price by that amount from the BBV. IRL I freaking hate dealing with cars, I don't even like putting gas in them.

I guess I could just put it at the end of the driveway with a for sale sign and my phone number? That would be kind of annoying to have multiple people call. Maybe going to a used car dealer and see if they want it?

Ideas?

they will buy a car even if you aren't buying one back.

I've bought two cars from them and was happy with their service but that could just be because I didn;t know any better. But I got cars that still work and I paid what I thought they were worth.

But I've never outright sold a car to them so that might be a different experience - still, I was happy enough with buying from them that I'd at least check into their deal with selling to them.

Not to make broad generalizations but (and here is where I make a broad generalization) when it comes to cars, guys will act like they know what they are doing so handing the job off to a brother is a perfect solution.

(I say this as a guy who periodically must open up the hood of a car and pretend to know what I'm doing. Luckily, I know some guys who really do know what they are doing.)

for the last 20+ years because I know I can walk in, lease a car for 3 years and not have to deal with anything breaking down. My husband and daughter take care of oil changes. I could tell you how bad my car-aversion is but it would make me look really bad - luckily my husband and kids still love me, flaws and all.

My nephew is a mechanic so I might see if he can deal with it for me.
