"It's over." Chill. I added the "chill". Or she might have said, "S*** happens."

Btw, if my jumping into this thread is not welcome, I'll self-delete. Here are the lyrics. I had heard that song, natch, but seldom care about lyrics. Melody is it, and if the melody is there I give the lyrics a chance.

Dang, what LONG lyrics!1 I like the highlighted words, although several things could be read in different, good/bad/risqué ways. But then I've been accused of various things like "comprehension impaired" or of mind alterations of sorts.

Below that is something also from 1969, "The Gestalt Prayer" that was a popular poster in the '70s, the post-Hippie era.

Let me know if I'm to Self-Delete, but *toute suite* - will be gone soon.

It's getting to the point where I'm no fun anymore
I am sorry
Sometimes it hurts so badly I must cry out loud
I am lonely

I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are
You make it hard

Remember what we've said and done and felt about each other
Oh, babe have mercy
Don't let the past remind us of what we are not now
I am not dreaming

I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are
You make it hard

(Instrumental (Acoustic Guitar))

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Tearing yourself away from me now you are free
And I am crying
This does not mean I don't love you I do that's forever
Yes and for always

I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are
You make it hard

Something inside is telling me that I've got your secret
Are you still listening?
Fear is the lock and laughter the key to your heart
And I love you

I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are
You make it hard
And you make it hard
And you make it hard
And you make it hard)

(Instrumental (Acoustic Guitar)

Friday evening
Sunday in the afternoon
What have you got to lose?

Tuesday morning
Please be gone I'm tired of you
What have you got to lose?

Can I tell it like it is? (Help me I'm sufferin')
Listen to me baby
It's my heart that's a sufferin' it's a dyin' (Help me I'm dyin')
And that's what I have to lose (To lose)

I've got an answer
I'm going to fly away
What have I got to lose?

Will you come see me
Thursdays and Saturdays?
What have you got to lose?

(Instrumental (Acoustic Guitar))

Chestnut brown canary
Ruby throated sparrow
Sing a song, don't be long
Thrill me to the marrow

(Instrumental (Acoustic Guitar))

Voices of the angels
Ring around the moonlight
Asking me said she so free
How can you catch the sparrow?

(Instrumental (Acoustic Guitar))

Lacy lilting lady
Losing love lamenting
Change my life, make it right
Be my lady

(Instrumental (Acoustic Guitar))

Doo doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo

Doo doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo

Que linda me la traiga Cuba
La reina de la Mar Caribe
Cielo sol no tiene sangreahi
Y que triste que no puedo vaya oh va, oh va

Doo doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo

Doo doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo

The Gestalt Prayer

I do my thing and you do your thing.
I am not in this world to live up to your expectations,
And you are not in this world to live up to mine.
You are you, and I am I,
and if by chance we find each other, it's beautiful.
If not, it can't be helped.

To extrapolate further, my impression (this is how I get in trouble) from just a couple of your posts, you seem like a gentle soul.

At any rate, saying so won't get you trouble from me.

I was just about to add to my comment to you -- there are also echoes of the lyric from "Let's Get Together" in this piece.

Sigh.

I wish them well though we are apart.
At one time I loved them differently than I do today. They are part of who I am now. How could the love turn to hate?
They are the reason I have the wisdom to see individuals today more clearly than they see themselves.

It's harder to understand how love could turn into that. Hate, well, there are selfishness and ego issues that contribute. But it's amazing how some people find this magic switch to turn off all caring.

Love to you.

Voices of the angels, ring around the moonlight,
asking me, said, she so free,
how can you catch the sparrow?

Lacy, lilting lyrics, losing love lamenting.

Change my life, make it right,

be my lady.

Love that tune.
