OK, week, you fuck, listen up:

My cat had a heart attack on Monday. Douchebags compromised my bank account on Tuesday to buy phone apps (no rilly). The baby got sick on Wednesday, which occupied all of my attention until today. Obama wants to frack Europe, there's BP oil in Lake Michigan, and dickheads like Bill Kristol want to engage us in a land war in Asia, so of course assholes let him on television.

So here's my proposal, week, you fuck: fuck the fuck off. If I have to deal with another week like you, week, I won't have many weeks left. So go fuck yourself with an angry alligator, week, and set yourself on fire while you're at it. I'll salt the earth where your ashes wind up, week, even if I have to get flying lessons to do it. You suck, week, and I'm glad you're almost dead.

Cost me $500 to learn that, and that his heart and liver and blood and poop are still OK, so we caught it in time. Medicine from here on out.

How old is he?

My 1 year old cat went and broke the growth plate between her hip and femur bone clean off about a month ago - paid $400 just to be told that. I may need to come up with a further $800-1200 for surgery, though it's looking unlikely she'll need it. They can't just fix it, so they tell me, all they can do is cut some of the top of the femur off to prevent bone on bone pain, which is the only reason they would do the op, no point in doing it in hopes that it will improve her mobility. However, she does not seem to be in any pain or discomfort, just limping a little. She does get around better as time goes on, but I'll have to see.

Hope the baby, wife and cat are all well and that this new week isn't a bitch as well lol.

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

Causes a massive flamewar in GD, goes to the Lounge to laugh about it. Classy.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Mar 28, 2014, 10:13 PM, and the Jury voted 1-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Yeah, this is getting ridiculous. Hide.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: There is absolutely no reason this should have been alerted. Will Pitt is a long time member of this site and is well respected by many of us, the harrassment he has received this week is disgusting. I would much rather have Will Pitt posting on this site than whoever it was that alerted this.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: So let me get this straight - Will Pitt started a flame war this week so now we have to hide his posts? Never going to happen.

Will Pitt is like a father to me. He is the greatest Duer who ever drew a breath. Alerting on him should be a banable offense!!!!
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Much as I'd love to hide the post, considering the source, there is really no reason to do so.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

My truth(s) :

* DU is my home.
* The key word is “Democratic.”
* Originally it was my ICU/burn-rehab for Coup 2000.
* I detest indescribably all things Rethug, personalized via Shrub but whatever passing others.
* I have never used and never will use the Ignore/Trash functions.
* I love a high percentage of “most” as in “almost all” of DU, the sliver of dislike being cult/cliqueism.
* I have never liked the mirror of Faux’s m.o. of telling an audience what they want to hear, preaching to the choir.
* I have generally not personally attacked other DUers, while self-defending in flamefests and describing behaviors.
* I have long life political experience with “Democrats” who find some “reason” to turn against other Democrats.
* I support my Primary candidates full heartedly, but then support whoever is the Dem nominee, from whatever wing, even when I know they will lose.
* I have often screwed up myself and realize everybody has somebody dearly wanting them gone, including insignificant me.
* There have always been plenty of things I would say to Dem leaders IN PRIVATE, not via giving comfort to wingnuts.

To be more pertinent to the O.Poster, with the above points as context:

* I have always regarded him as a vanity/egoist-to-the-max poster, a show-boater, a faddist and flamebaiter, of the preaching-to-the-choir mirror/Faux m.o., useless to me since I already know what I believe, doing more harm than good for playing into the elitist and entitled stereotypes wingnuts purvey about Libs, has abused special privileges forever.

(and threads of the like which he posted this week and the ensuing threads) I trashed the GD forum completely and spend more time on FB and much, much less time on DU. Frankly life is simply too short to waste my time on what I find to be lacking in civility. Points can be made, issues discussed without name calling such as I noted in his original OP which I believe started the recent GD upheaval.

As to this OP in the Lounge, at the end of the week when discussion may very well be tapering out on the GD "discussion"as weariness sets in, well it simply appears to be in my opinion more of "look at me" and I find it rather childish.

60. Have you done the skin test to see if she's dehydrated?
Mon Mar 31, 2014, 06:17 AM
Mar 2014

Forgive me if you already have done this: Pull up the skin on the scruff of her neck and let go - if it snaps back quickly, she's hydrated. If it is slow to return or stays raised, she's dehydrated. Cats can dehydrate pretty quickly, much faster than we do. Obviously if dehydrated, a vet visit is best so they can give her subcutaneous or IV fluids, depending on the severity of her dehydration and overall health.

As long as she eats a little something, that's encouraging. You don't want to let her go too long without eating either as it can be bad for her liver. As long as she's eating a little something every day, that's encouraging. I hope she gets her full appetite back soon.

Best wishes!

Sorry about the bank account. That truly sucks. I had my identity completely stolen 7 years ago during Thanksgiving week. Laptop was stolen with all our pension information, de-encrypted and our identities stolen courtesy of an ID theft ring operating out of HP. It. Is. No. Fun.

At least hacking into your bank account, they can give you a new bank account # and hopefully put better security in place. I can't get a new social security # or new "mother's maiden name," and whatever else they had in there...
