but it seems that weather forecasting has gone down the tubes in the last few years.

Of course my mind goes back to "the good ole days" but back then, I lived in and around Seattle,
and it was hard ot miss a forecast of "rain". since that is all it did mostly.

these last few months, the forecast has been for rain that does not show up
temperatures that are off by 10 degrees
cloudy skies when clear is called for..

and I agree that the forecasting just doesn't seem to be as good as only a few years ago. Right now one channel is calling for us to have just some rain tomorrow, another rain and snow and a third has reported that according to one of models out there, we could see a significant snow storm tomorrow but that they were discounting that model and calling for an inch or so of snow, even though the model in question has been more consistantly correct this year than any of the other models. So, I'm looking forward to seeing what weather we do have tomorrow.
